Lots of Excitement on the Ranch
Howdy there dear friends!
I was spending some much needed time on my computer and thought I would stop in for a quick update on all the exciting things happening here on the ranch! But first, I was wondering, did you see the picture above that I took while letting Twin Star Cinch out to play in the snow!… Won’t be long and there will be flowers around our sign! I can’t wait!!!
Cheyenne, my oldest (by 14 minutes) twin daughter, started working for the USDA NRCS in Dallas county. This job brought her closer to her and her husband’s farm. She loves working there and meeting fellow farmers and ranchers in her area. I’m excited for her in her new adventure, doing things she loves and not driving as far to her place of employment.
Dakota, my youngest twin daughter, recently went to work for DV Auction! She absolutely loves her job! She is still busy learning the ropes, but will be happy to work with you for all your online auction needs. You can find her on her DV Auction Facebook Page, Dakota Arthur.
One of Lynn’s sons is getting married this spring. We are excited for him and his bride-to-be! It is going to be held in a beautiful location and we are looking forward to getting our family together for the big occasion. With everyone’s busy schedules and the distance now between us all, we rarely get together and I sure do miss our family game nights. Hmmmm, wonder if I can sneak in a game? LOL
How are the home updates coming, you ask? Well, I have finished remodeling the 4 bedrooms upstairs and have been unpacking, organizing, and setting-up my work spaces! It feels like Christmas with each box that I open and see what cool thing is in there. Boy, are my creative juices flowing! I am looking forward to the day I am settled in and working on some new creations. Be watching for those over on the Sliding Stop Trading Post page!
Have I mentioned PUPPIES??? My oh my do we have the puppies! “Lil Miss” blessed us with 3 precious kiddos! This is her fist litter and to no surprise, she is a wonderful momma. She is so diligent at keeping them very clean! I swear her tongue has to be wore out as many baths as she gives during the day. They are chunky little monkeys… they wouldn’t be spoiled any. LOL. Sometimes they whine and when you pick them up they snuggle and are fast asleep… didn’t need anything just some lovings. Gotta love that puppy breath when they yawn!
“Washington” kept us up all night a few nights ago as we helped her bring in 9 gorgeous babies! This was the night the freezing rain and snow hit… it was quite an eventful night. I prayed for an easy birthing process and for the electric to stay on!
With all these puppies, the 1st floor of our home has turned into a nursery! I love that we are able to keep the puppies in our home and get them acclimated to normal home sounds! This love and attention through out the day, produces a caring, loveable pet just for you! You know, you have that tax refund coming….. what better way to spend it than for a new Corgi furever pal!
We have mares getting ready to foal, some Spring calvers getting ready to calve and I will be adding a few ducks and maybe some catfish to our ponds, in the coming month! It won’t be long and I will have flowers in the wagon and plants on the front porch!
I would love to hear what your Spring plans include. Replies to my blog are always welcome!
Until next time… Happy Trails!
