Never say Never!!!

Hi there dear friend!

It has been longer than normal since posting a blog as it has been a whirlwind, to say the least!! I said when I moved from home 15 years ago that I would never move back. I love Southwest Missouri; the open land; the lakes and the private hidey holes I have managed to find through the years… and have made so many good friends across this corner of Missouri. I have special memories of sitting on top of a hill in the middle of nowhere with a cold drink in hand; watching fireworks 50 miles away July 4 nights. But, as we all know, life changes!

We have taken over my mom’s farm back home South of Rolla about 150 miles from where I am currently located… and have purchased another farm down the road from her… so I have to take back that “never” moving back home statement. I am excited to continue raising cattle and horses on the farm where I grew up and I couldn’t be happier about the new place. It’s an old farm house that needs LOTS of updates, paint, and old carpet yanked to refinish what appears to be beautiful hardwood flooring. It has rolling hills plentiful of grass! Not to mention the neatest old barn with a hayloft like I used to once have. I am sure in the upcoming months there will be many updates on our remodeling progress. LOL

The farm has been listed at https://www.tomkisseerealestate.com/listing/289321841-150272268/26000-county-road-143-flemington-mo-65650/ and now the fun begins of packing boxes, moving farm equipment and trying to figure just how to set it all back up! My statement of the next time I moved would be in a pine box was sure inaccurate!!! Lesson learned… Never ever say Never!!! Oh the journey we will have in the upcoming months and I am excited to have you along for the ride!

The last time I posted, I had a fun word search puzzle. See the attached for answers to the puzzle which explained a little about us.

Until next time, Happy Trails!

  1. Hi Sandra, That’s so cool that you moved near your mom, but on your own place. I’m sure you will all make great new memories together. Looking forward to seeing pics of your new ranch including your house remodel. How exciting!

  2. Hi Pam!
Thank you for your reply! I am excited to be back and hope you continue to follow along with me on my new journey! It is weird to be back where I grew up… some things are the same… some are different and the people I knew growing up, I realize aged right along with me. LOL!

The TSR (Twin Star Ranch – new home place) is beautiful, very peaceful and secluded! I can see the rolling hills for miles right off my back deck! Sunrises and sunsets are absolutely gorgeous! I can’t wait to see the colorful fall leaves later this year! I am so very blessed!

Thank you again for taking the time to read my blog and I encourage you to reply often!
    Happy Trails!
