It\u2019s one of my favorite times of the year.\u00a0 Unlike some of my friends, it\u2019s definitely not because of hoodie weather and pumpkin spice\u2026. But because calving season has begun!\u00a0 We have a set of heifers calving with AI sired calves. \u00a0I caught a cute picture of a baby heifer out of W\/C Banchor 46D<\/strong> and a first-time calving heifer a grand-daughter of Mr HOC Broker<\/strong>.\u00a0 This baby heifer is the fifth generation from my first herd of registered cattle.\u00a0 It\u2019s so neat to look at the babies hitting the ground and think about their long lineage and know that I chose that lineage to get to where I am today.\u00a0 They are good mommas; they have depth, length, bone and longevity!<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Speaking of these traits\u2026. When I haven\u2019t been out with the livestock, I\u2019ve been in my workroom busily making field trial blankets.\u00a0 I placed my first big ad yesterday in the The Hunter\u2019s Horn <\/strong>magazine.\u00a0 https:\/\/www.huntinghoundsmen.com\/product-page\/the-hunters-horn-magazine<\/a> \u00a0I\u2019m looking forward to seeing the ad in print starting with the November issue.\u00a0 It feels like it has taken a life-time to get to this point, but it is a good feeling to be pushing forward with my dream!<\/p>\n\n
