The past week has really put things into perspective.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

I\u2019ve been thinking a lot about everyone who was so adversely affected by the weather we had recently. So many people lost barns, dealt with damage, or were stuck for hours on highways\u2014some with livestock on trailers. Many were just trying to get home safely. My \u201cson-in-law\u201d (he\u2019s not really my son-in-law, but I call him that; he and my daughter, Dakota, have been dating forever) was traveling with competition dogs. His drive home from the hunt took him over 26 hours.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

My thoughts and prayers have truly been with those who were struggling through that. It\u2019s a reminder of how quickly things can change\u2014and how much tenacity it takes just to keep moving forward some days.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

In my last post, I wrote about grit and determination. Over the past couple of weeks, I\u2019ve realized that grit doesn\u2019t always look big or flashy. Sometimes it looks like sitting in front of a screen\u2014confused, frustrated, and determined not to quit.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

My focus lately has been learning how to put my logo on pictures and videos. Sounds simple, right? Not for me. The tech confusion alone can make your head spin, and then there\u2019s the pressure of wanting everything to look perfect. I\u2019ve successfully gotten my logo on my photos, and I\u2019m still working through the video side of things. It\u2019s not finished\u2014but it is<\/em> progress.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

And honestly, getting this far has been a huge relief. Inch by inch, it is a cinch.<\/em><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

For a long time, I always had someone else handle this kind of thing for me. When that help wasn\u2019t available anymore, it was scary. Really<\/em> scary. But I also knew this was something I had to learn if I wanted to move my brand forward. No shortcuts. No outsourcing my growth forever. Just me, learning something uncomfortable because the long-term goal matters more than the temporary frustration.<\/p>\n

Putting my logo on photos and videos isn\u2019t just about branding\u2014it represents growth. It means I\u2019m building something meant to last. It means I\u2019m investing in my business, my brand, and my future instead of standing still because learning feels hard.<\/p>\n

Lately, I\u2019ve been drawing inspiration from people who don\u2019t sugarcoat the process.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

I love reading Tricia Aldridge\u2019s (2025 Reserve World Champion in WPRA Barrels riding Adios Pantalones) thoughts on goals and grit because she\u2019s blunt and straight to the point. She talks openly about how hard work, determination, and setting scary goals are what actually move you forward\u2014not comfort. Not waiting until you feel ready.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

I also watched Rocker Steiner\u2019s Hell on Wheels<\/em> documentary. Rocker is the 2025 World Champion Bareback rider in the PRCA. He may not be politically correct all the time, but he\u2019s real. What stood out to me wasn\u2019t just the wins\u2014it was his work ethic. The grit. The way he worked through pain and setbacks and kept showing up with one goal in mind: that gold buckle. No excuses. Just effort.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

When I put Tricia\u2019s mindset and Rocker\u2019s work ethic together, it hit me\u2014this is what I\u2019ve always had in me.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

For years, I\u2019ve called these things my \u201cbucket list.\u201d But if I\u2019m being honest, they were never bucket list items. They were goals.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

My mom once told me she doesn\u2019t like the idea of a bucket list. She also tells me\u2014often\u2014that I have too many irons in the fire. And maybe from her perspective, that\u2019s true. But when I look at people like Tricia, who successfully runs multiple businesses, it makes me realize that ambition doesn\u2019t always mean you\u2019re scattered. Sometimes it just means you\u2019re driven.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

I\u2019ve had friends tell me that I work too hard. That I need to take time off, go somewhere, do something \u201cfun.\u201d I know it can probably look like I\u2019m being snobby, or like I just don\u2019t want to do things with people.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

But the truth is, this is<\/em> what makes me feel good.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

I feel better when I\u2019m moving forward. I feel better when, at the end of the day, I can lay my head down knowing I accomplished something\u2014something that pushed me closer to my goals. Progress gives me peace.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

If I were to stop and go do something just for the sake of \u201cfun,\u201d I wouldn\u2019t enjoy it anyway. My mind would be spinning with everything I could be doing instead\u2014everything that would help me get ahead, learn more, or build what I\u2019m working toward. That doesn\u2019t make me better than anyone else; it just means I\u2019m wired differently.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

This season of life isn\u2019t about checking out\u2014it\u2019s about building. And for me, that\u2019s fulfilling.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Maybe I\u2019ve always been on the right track.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Maybe having big goals, multiple dreams, and a constant pull toward growth isn\u2019t a flaw\u2014it\u2019s just who I am. And maybe not every voice of doubt, even well-meaning ones, deserves to be the loudest voice in my head. (Even though I clearly haven\u2019t listened very well\u2026 LOL.)<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

These weeks weren\u2019t about perfection. They were about learning. About doing something hard, frustrating, and uncomfortable\u2014because the bigger picture matters.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Grit isn\u2019t always loud. Sometimes it\u2019s quiet progress. Sometimes it\u2019s one logo on one picture. Sometimes it\u2019s admitting you don\u2019t know how yet<\/em>\u2014but choosing to learn anyway.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

And that? That\u2019s one step closer to the goal.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n
